Future Case Study Ideas

Tier 1 — Build Next (Aligned to Current Verticals)

Manufacturing: CNC Machine Deep Clean During Scheduled Shutdown

Target reader: Maintenance manager or plant engineer at a precision machining shop

Story: A machine shop running 10+ CNC centers accumulates coolant residue, metal fines, and oil mist throughout the machines and the facility. During a scheduled shutdown weekend, Sublimate cleans all machines in-place plus overhead steel and electrical panels. Focus on time savings vs. their normal shutdown clean process and the fact that machines were production-ready Monday morning.

Key metric to capture: Hours saved, number of machines cleaned, before/after photo set

Automotive: Classic Vehicle Restoration Engine Bay and Undercarriage

Target reader: Restoration shop owner, classic car collector, or high-end detailer

Story: A collector vehicle with 30+ years of accumulated grease, road grime, and undercoating. Dry ice blasting strips everything back to bare metal and original surfaces without damaging wiring, rubber, seals, or painted components. The reveal exposes the true condition of the frame, suspension, and engine bay for proper restoration assessment.

Key metric to capture: Before/after photos (the money shot for this vertical), time on-site, and a description of what was revealed underneath the grime

Facility Restoration: Fire Damage Soot Removal

Target reader: Restoration contractor, insurance adjuster, or property manager

Story: A commercial or industrial building with smoke and soot damage. Dry ice blasting removes soot from structural steel, concrete, HVAC components, and walls without water intrusion (which would compound the damage). Focus on speed, the absence of water damage from the cleaning itself, and documentation for the insurance claim.

Key metric to capture: Square footage cleaned, time vs. estimated traditional method time, no secondary water damage

Tier 2 — Build When You Enter These Verticals

Power & Electrical: Switchgear and MCC Cleaning

Story: Conductive dust and oil residue on switchgear increasing arc flash risk. Non-conductive dry ice cleaning restores insulation resistance and supports NFPA 70E compliance without de-energizing adjacent equipment.

Aerospace: Composite Tooling and Bond Prep

Story: Cleaning composite layup molds and bond surfaces without damaging the tool or introducing contaminants. Focus on surface preparation quality and the elimination of solvent-based cleaning.

Pharmaceutical: Cleanroom Tooling Maintenance

Story: Injection mold cleaning in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment. Emphasis on particle-free, residue-free cleaning that maintains ISO 13485 compliance.

How to Convert a Real Job Into a Case Study

When you complete a job that would make a good case study, capture these elements:

01
Before photos: Take 8–12 photos before starting — overall shots plus close-ups of the worst contamination areas
02
After photos: Match the same angles. Side-by-side comparisons are the most powerful visual content you can create
03
Time on-site: Track your actual cleaning hours from setup to completion
04
Client feedback: Ask the client for a 1–2 sentence quote about the experience. Even informal feedback works.
05
Metrics if available: Downtime saved, production cycles recovered, cleaning frequency change, any measurable outcome
06
Permission: Get written permission to use the company name, photos, and results on your website and marketing materials

You do not need all of these for every case study. Even just strong before/after photos and a brief narrative make compelling content. The photos do most of the selling.
