How Dry Ice Blasting Works
Kinetic Energy
CO₂ pellets are accelerated by compressed air and strike the surface at high velocity, breaking the bond between contaminants and the substrate without scratching or profiling.
Thermal Shock
At -109°F, the extreme cold causes contaminants to contract and crack, losing adhesion and lifting away from the surface.
Sublimation
On contact, pellets convert directly from solid to gas — expanding 800x in volume — ejecting debris and leaving zero residue behind. No water. No waste. No cleanup.

Our Service Verticals
We provide custom dry ice blasting solutions across eight core industrial verticals. Select your industry below to see how we can solve your specific cleaning challenges.
Manufacturing & Machine Shops
Remove coolant residue, metal fines, grease, carbon, and adhesive buildup from production equipment without disassembly, water, or abrasion. We clean CNC machines, lathes, mills, presses, weld cells, robotics, conveyors, and electrical panels in-place during your scheduled maintenance windows.
Common Applications: CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, hydraulic presses, weld fixtures, electrical panels, conveyors, robotic arms, overhead infrastructure
Food & Beverage Processing
Eliminate baked-on carbon, grease, allergen residues, and microbial contamination from ovens, mixers, conveyors, packaging lines, and molds — without water, chemicals, or production-disrupting teardowns. Our process is aligned with USDA, FDA, and HACCP sanitation requirements.
Common Applications: Ovens, fryers, mixers, conveyors, molds, packaging equipment, hoppers, exhaust hoods, cold storage surfaces
Restore engine bays, undercarriages, suspension components, frames, and body panels by removing decades of grease, road film, tar, and corrosion without damaging wiring, rubber, seals, or finishes. Ideal for high-end detailing, classic car restoration, and fleet maintenance.
Common Applications: Engine bays, undercarriages, suspension, frames, subframes, wheel wells, pre-paint prep, fleet cleaning, leak identification support
Plastics, Rubber & Injection Molding
Clean mold cavities, vents, runners, core pins, and parting lines without disassembly or cool-down. Dry ice blasting removes release agents, carbon, polymer residue, and flash buildup while extending mold life and improving cycle consistency.
Common Applications: Injection molds, compression molds, blow molds, thermoforming tools, rubber molds, die cast tooling, flash and burr removal
Aerospace & Composites
Safely clean composite materials, tooling, and precision components without damaging delicate surfaces or altering geometry. Dry ice blasting removes silicones, release agents, resins, and oxidation while supporting bond surface preparation and high-tolerance manufacturing.
Common Applications: Mold cleaning, composite panel prep, bond surface preparation, engine components, structural parts, tooling maintenance
Power Generation & Electrical Systems
Clean transformers, switchgear, generators, motor control centers, and turbine components with a non-conductive, moisture-free process that reduces arc flash risk, restores insulation resistance, and extends component lifespan.
Common Applications: Switchgear, transformers, MCCs, generators, motors, turbines, HRSG fins, control panels, wind turbine housings
Pharmaceutical & Medical Device
Remove chemical residue and particle contamination from injection molds, precision tooling, cleanroom surfaces, and assembly equipment. Our process supports ISO 13485 and GMP compliance without introducing solvents, water, or foreign media into controlled environments.
Common Applications: Injection molds, precision tooling, cleanroom surfaces, assembly equipment, sensitive electronics, packaging systems
Facility Restoration & Infrastructure
Remove soot, smoke damage, mold, biological contamination, oxidation, and aged coatings from walls, ceilings, structural steel, concrete, HVAC systems, and historical surfaces — without introducing water intrusion, aggressive chemicals, or surface damage.
Common Applications: Fire and smoke restoration, mold remediation, historical preservation, concrete and steel cleaning, HVAC ductwork, graffiti removal
Why Sublimate Technologies
Every Job Is Custom
We do not offer one-size-fits-all cleaning. Every engagement starts with a consultation to understand your equipment, contaminants, surfaces, and operational constraints. From there, we develop a custom cleaning plan tailored to your facility — because no two operations are the same.
Built-In Regulatory Awareness
Our team brings backgrounds in environmental regulatory consulting, industrial operations, and compliance management. That means every job is planned with safety, waste handling, and documentation standards that go beyond typical industrial cleaning.
We come to you with top-of-the-line ColdJet dry ice blasting systems, specialty nozzles and accessories, compressed air, dry ice, PPE, CO₂ monitoring, and containment materials. Your equipment stays on the production floor.
Complete Documentation
Every job includes before/after photo records, written scope completion notes, and Job Safety Analysis documentation — ready for your quality audits, ISO records, and maintenance logs.
